The Crestron EMEA Integration Awards, held annually during Integrated Systems Europe, in Amsterdam, are a celebration of the best projects featuring Crestron technology in the EMEA region. Now in it’s12th year, the Crestron EMEA Awards received a record 147 entries, from 19 countries.
Taking top honours for the Most Unique Application In The Commercial Sector was Triac, a well-established South African company that specialises in the development of architectural lighting and lighting controls for architects, interior designers, lighting designers and direct clients. Triac recently deployed a bespoke solution for iconic South African fast-food restaurant, Nando’s, which has earned the company a coveted Crestron Integration Award.
Nando’s South Africa operates over 1500 outlets in 25 countries, and the brand is renowned for innovative thinking and was looking for a way to create a relaxing and inviting vibe through careful lighting design. Triac designed a solution that places a Crestron Pyng hub in each outlet, which controls all of the Crestron lighting and distributed audio through the restaurant. Triac answered all of the requirements set out in the client’s brief and has delivered a system to provide standardisation of lighting experience throughout the restaurant chain, that is centrally controlled, monitored and managed via the cloud and is all automated, managed and controlled from the chain’s headquarters.
According to Crestron, “Triac’s solution for Nando’s South Africa was the judge’s choice in this category, not only because of the significant adaptation of the solution – with 24 outlets already completed and another 54 planned – but it is also a great example of how the Crestron Pyng solution and Triac’s design are delivering real benefit to the restaurant chain.”
AV Integration magazine will be running a feature on Triac and the Award-winning Nando’s installation in the upcoming edition of the magazine.
